What happened when I decided to be bold & just ask.
Hi friends,
I get request from non-profits all the time for donations for their annual gala’s silent auctions. It’s always so fun to pick out a beautiful bag to send, knowing it’s raising money for a great cause
We’ve been donating bags for a while so when it’s the second or third year, I love hearing how the bag was such a popular item the previous year with lots of bids.
But I want to do more.
So when a large national organization that we’ve donated bags to over the years reached out for a donation this year, I decided to be bold & tell them my new idea:
That we take what’s been working with our custom branding customers to the non-profit world!
We set up a dedicated landing page on our website, determine a preorder window & custom brand a few of our most popular styles with their branding and donate 50% of the sales to the organization.
They said yes!
(Details on how to order this fall!)
Then I got to thinking, what other non-profit organizations would I love to support in larger ways. And I decided to be bold & email the Executive Director of a local organization that is very dear to my heart.
And she said yes!
(Details on how to order these this fall, too!)
I just finished having coffee with the Executive Director and her team & they were so excited about this new way to fundraise!
I’m so incredibly JAZZED.
Generosity has always been one of our values as a company & this typically is in the realm of us being able to be generous to our artisan partners in our support. But as a small business with small profit margins & a small team, it’s felt hard to find ways to make the dollars stretch.
This new venture feels like a such an incredible win / win / win.
Win for the organization,
win for our artisans having more work &
win for the customers who get a gorgeous bag while also supporting a non-profit they love.
I can’t wait to share the details with you in the coming months, but in the meantime are you in the non-profit space looking for a different way to fundraise?
Or do you know someone at an organization doing amazing work that you can connect me with
All replies go directly to me, so I’d love to hear from you!
xoxo,
